Architecture Analysis
Sennheiser has come a long way since 1945 producing some of the finest headphones in the world. The new Sennhesier flagship HD800 is an example of extraordinary German Engineering being one of if not the finest dynamic headphones available today with the exception of the accompanying headphone cable. The signal transfer from an amplifier to a well designed headphone is an extremely critical area and due to the high cost of the device responsible (the headphone cable) it is considerably compromised by every headphone manufacturers. The new Sennheiser HD800 stock cable is no exception. It is designed to look attractive but the following design analysis will help explain to the user group interested in upgrading from stock cable to the new Stefan AudioArt VOICE Ultra High-End Headphone Cable why they will experience very significant performance improvements. Stefan AudioArt introduced the E-Series which was the first audiophile headphone cable to hit the market back in 2002. Since this important introduction, many companies have tried to match the legendary performance without success. With constant research and development of new materials and processes, Stefan AudioArt remains dedicated to producing the best signal transfer devices available for headphone listening systems and is again the first in offering this extraordinary hardwired upgrade for the Sennheiser HD800. Our research has proven that there are two key factors to the make-up of a cable capable of high quality transfer. Conductive surface material is the number one factor and with years of research and development we have formulated a copper based surface combined with proprietary conductors which excel when applied to a headphone and headphone system components. Second, all conductive and nonconductive material besides the actual “wire” that transfers the audio signal adds pollution and degrades the sound quality with dielectrics and connectors being the biggest factors. In our analysis of the HD800 stock cable we found five major contributing factors to the degradation of the audio signal and they are as follows: - 4 Heavy wall magnetic connectors - Rubber dielectric - Heavy rubber strain relief throughout the cable - 16 soldering points
- High gage conductive surface
- The Stefan Audio Hardwired VOICE Ultra-High End - The new
now available hardwired version of the Stefan AudioArt VOICE
Ultra High-End eliminates four of the major degrading factors of
Sennhesier stock cable by the
omission of the 4 Heavy wall magnetic connectors, rubber dielectric,
heavy rubber stain relief throughout the cable and the reduction of soldering
points from 16 to 8 points. We remove the stock solder and extensively
treat our proprietary solder after application. Next step was to significantly improved and increased the surface area of the
conductive material with a new formula of the purest copper available
combined with specialized conductive material. This plus the proprietary material
surround and meticulous
design factors incorporated into the VOICE unquestionably provides the
ultimate signal transfer to the Sennhesier HD800 headphones. All
installations of the Stefan AudioArt VOICE will be done in our new clean
room facilities only. If by any chance you should need the original
Sennheiser HD800 stock cable configuration we will return your HD800
headphones back to the exact manufactured specification (the way it left
the factory) free of charge for as long as you own the headphones.
We
will retain all the original factory parts for this process (unless
requested by the user) in our new clean room facilities.
